Administration
Principal
Jandra Honeman
Welcome to Sunset Hill Elementary!
My name is Jandra Honeman, and I am honored to serve as the new principal of Sunset Hill Elementary School. With over 26 years of experience in education, I am deeply committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and caring learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
I began my educational journey by earning my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, focusing on Elementary Education, Reading Specialist, and Educational Leadership. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various roles, including Principal of Prairie View Elementary, Assistant Principal of Lakehoma Elementary and Mustang Elementary, and classroom teacher for first, second, and third grades. Each of these experiences has shaped my vision and passion for helping students succeed.
At Sunset Hill, we will work together to ensure every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential. My guiding principle is simple: make decisions that are in the best interest of our students. Together with our talented staff and supportive families, I know we can make this vision a reality.
On a personal note, my husband, Kyle, and I have three wonderful daughters who are all part of the Mustang Public Schools family. Madelyn is a senior majoring in pre-physical therapy at Southern Nazarene University (SNU), and Ella is a freshman studying interior design at Oklahoma State University (OSU). Both are proud graduates of Mustang High School. Our youngest, Kyndal, is currently a 4th grader in Mustang.
I am excited to build strong connections with our students, families, and staff as we embark on this new chapter at Sunset Hill. Together, we will create a vibrant community where every child can shine!
Assistant Principal
My name is Lauren Sanders and I am excited to be a part of the Sunset Hill team! I have spent the last five years as an Assistant Principal here at Centennial Elementary; prior to that, I served as Centennial’s Media Specialist for four years. Up until that point, I taught 2nd - 5th grades in several assignments with Mustang Public Schools.
I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and earned my Master’s in Administration at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. I live in Mustang with my husband, Chad, and our two children. My very favorite pastime is traveling. We are avid RVers and take every opportunity we can to go out and visit new places.
I feel so blessed to be a part of our Sunset Hill family.
